Nefer

150 x 48 cm super glossy print

This is a piece I worked on last night while trying to avoid doing ‘proper’ design work. It’s inspired by a framed replica of a section from the Book of the DeadAncient Egyptian papyrus scrolls describing the wanderings of the soul and its appraisal by the gods of the Underworld–hanging directly across the room from me and therefore not difficult to stare at while procrastinating.

In Ancient Egyptian, nefer means ‘beauty’ and is indicated by this hieroglyph:

nefer
